It was the ‘Wild West’ end in Toronto at high noon Wednesday and there’s no sugarcoating that fact.
There is nothing Canada’s Justice Minister Sean Fraser can say to deny it.
On two people being struck by bullets in the crossfire of a war zone-style gangland shootout outside a high school, he hasn’t said anything at all. Nor did Prime Minister Mark Carney. Or Mayor Olivia Chow. Or Premier Doug Ford.
But this did happen at 11:55 a.m. outside of York Memorial Collegiate at Keele St. and Donald Ave., near Rogers Rd. Two innocent people were struck by bullets in the crossfire.
“Boom, boom, boom,” one witness described hearing.
Another told CP24: “I heard shots. At first, it was about maybe five, six shots all one after the other. It stopped for maybe a second and it started all over again
