LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – At Jefferson Community and Technical College, there are students who are visually impaired, along with those who can’t take the stairs and some who don’t speak English. There are others who just don’t know their way around. Now, all of them will have an easier time navigating the campus thanks to a new app.

It’s not unusual to see young people on their phones, but what freshman Jake Winfrey is doing with his cell phone isn’t Tiktok, texting or doom scrolling. He’s wayfinding using a brand-new tool.

“It shows everything,” Winfrey said about the new app. “It shows both like where seats and like chairs and tables are for where you need to work. It has crazy precision.”

The app is called GoodMaps. The company is global but is based right here in Louisville. On Sept.
