US OPEN chiefs have made a final decision regarding the yob who appeared to be trying to steal from Jannik Sinner's bag.

Sinner , 24, defeated Alexander Bublik on Monday in New York to seal his place in the competition's quarter-finals.

The Italian then packed up his tennis gear before heading back to the locker room.

But as he did so, a fan sitting courtside appeared to try and zip open the World No1's bag before security quickly intervened .

The 2025 Wimbledon winner looked to have been taking a selfie with a fan at the time after giving his towel away to another supporter.

Sinner shook his head in anger after being alerted to the fan who had tried to open up his bag.

According to The Mail , USTA officials decided not to take any further action regarding the incident.
