Gov. Mike Braun on Wednesday announced Abby Gray as the new commissioner of the Office of Utility Consumer Counselor, which serves as an advocate for Indiana utility consumers.

Additionally, the governor directed the office to evaluate utility companies’ profits and “find cost-saving measures to ease the financial burden on Hoosiers.”

Gray has spent the last 16 years as the OUCC’s executive director of legal operations. Prior to that, she spent 23 years with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, serving as a senior administrative law judge and senior commission counsel.
