MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- UPDATE: September 4, 11 a.m. -- The boil water order has been lifted.

ORIGINAL: September 2, 9:49 a.m. -- The Lake Egypt Water District issued a boil water order for their customers on September 2.

The boil order was issued on Tuesday morning and affects all customers starting at Lake of Egypt Road and going north on Market Road to Hudgens Road. The boil order also extends to all side roads and the Deer Ridge subdivision.

The order is in effect until further notice.

The CDC recommends bringing water to a full rolling boil for one minute, or three minutes at elevations above 6,500 feet. Then allow the water to cool before using it.
