The Port Huron Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a man Wednesday, Sept. 3, in an apparent domestic disturbance.

Officers responded to a report of the shooting around 11:21 p.m. upon arrival to the 1400 block of 10th Avenue, officers found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Police performed CPR on the man until Tri-Hospital EMS arrived. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An 11-year-old child was found unharmed at the residence where the shooting occurred.

A 40-year-old woman was arrested and taken to the St. Clair County jail in connection to the shooting. The Port Huron Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
