BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A community college in the east has received a hefty anonymous donation to put toward scholarships for nursing students.
Beaufort County Community College says the BCCC Foundation got a $1 million anonymous endowment to create scholarships for second-year nursing students beginning next fall.
“This generous donation affirms the vital role of our nursing graduates in the community and ensures that financial challenges will not prevent dedicated students from completing their education,” says Dr. David Loope, president of the community college.
The funds will help students pay for tuition, fees and books and will be awarded after federal and state aid, according to BCCC.
