Trump Official ‘Declaring War on Fraud’ by Making Citizenship Test Harder — Claims Current Test Is ‘Just Too Easy’

A top Trump immigration official argued on Thursday that the current iteration of the U.S. citizenship test is “just too easy” and plans to make it harder.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Joseph Edlow claimed at a Thursday morning conference that he was “declaring war on fraud” by making the test harder. According to him, his department wants the test to be a better assessment of the applicant’s “attachment to the Constitution.” He continued:

Simply put, I want to see the naturalization process returned to where I believe it should have been… based on what the Congress has said, based on what the statute says.
