LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - Before he heads to New York to join Team USA as a vice captain for the Ryder Cup, University of Kansas graduate Gary Woodland will have to enter a new hall of fame.
Kansas Athletics announced that Woodland, the 2019 U.S. Open Champion, has been chosen to be inducted into the Kansas Athletics Hall of Fame.
His induction ceremony is set to take place on Friday, Sept. 19 at The Jayhawk Club in Lawrence.
“Gary represents everything we want our student-athletes to be,” Kansas Director of Athletics Travis Goff said. “He is an amazing person who has tremendous pride in being a Jayhawk. He excelled during his time in Lawrence, rewriting the record books throughout his career. He then embarked on a professional career that culminated with a U.S. Open championship that K
