AITKIN — Jaques Art Center in Aitkin will be celebrating 30 years in the community by offering wonderful displays of art work to the area and region to view.

One gallery is dedicated to original art by Francis Lee Jaques. Visitors from near and far stop at 121 Second St. NW to view his paintings located in a historic Carnegie Library building.

Jaques lived in Aitkin as a teenager. He was honing his skills even then. He bought a shop to do taxidermy to help with family expenses. He was always fascinated with wildlife and drawing. His career was an incredible adventure that brought him great acclaim.

To celebrate Jaques, the art minded persons who developed the art center will present to the public a newly acquired Jaques painting, plus the work of a dozen artists showing one piece each a
