WASHINGTON (KUMV) - Several U.S. Attorney nominees, including some from Montana and North Dakota, are being blocked from a confirmation vote in the Senate.
Republicans in the Senate Judiciary Committee say Democratic Whip Dick Durbin placed a blanket hold on confirmation votes. Democrats argue Trump’s judicial picks are more loyal to the president than the rule of law.
Among the 10 attorney nominees approved to the Senate floor, they include Nicolas Chase of North Dakota and Kurt Alme of Montana.
Montana Senator Steve Daines called this an unprecedented move that they can’t let stand.
