MARYVILLE, Mo. (KCTV) - The Chiefs are set to kick off their 2025 NFL season in Brazil, marking the first time in years the team has started a season away from Arrowhead Stadium. Even though the team on the field won’t consider Week 1 a home game, some Chiefs fans will.

KCTV5 spoke with Laura Silva ahead of Friday’s game, a Northwest Missouri State student who calls Brazil home. Silva said she’s become a big Chiefs fan since moving to Missouri, and this Friday her two worlds collide.

“We are embracing American football in our country, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen this week,” Silva said. “It’s a new sport for us, but we are embracing it in Brazil.”
