The number of homes sold in Chatham-Kent eased last month, however, active residential listings haven’t been this high in the month of August in a decade, real estate officials say.

Homes sold through the multiple listing service (MLS) of the Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors totalled 111 units in August, down 17.2 per cent from the same month last year.

There were 533 active listings at the end of last month, a gain of 15.1 per cent from the end of August 2024.

The number of listings was 32.5 per cent above the five-year average and 53.6 per cent above the 10-year average for the month.

Home sales were 15.1 per cent below the five-year average and 20.1 per cent below the 10-year average for the month of August.
