ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Prosecutors have charged a 73-year-old St. Louis woman in the death of her husband.

Court documents showed Beverly Nelson is now charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of her husband, Herbert Nelson.

She is currently held in the St. Louis City Justice Center without bond.

Court documents said Herbert Nelson was found dead on his couch in a home on Pershing Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds on Aug. 20.

Police said they found Beverly Nelson in the home, who told investigators she did not know her husband had been dead. But during their investigation, investigators talked with another witness who said they were there when Beverly killed her husband during an argument.
