The New York Yankees traded for Cody Bellinger last winter, and he has been a great addition to the team.
However, Bellinger has played his way to a potentially more lucrative contract than his current one. He has a $25 million player option next season, but ESPN's Jeff Passan predicts he will opt out .
"At 30, Bellinger will be one of the best bats on the market when he turns down his $25 million player option (which includes a $5 million buyout)," wrote Passan. "He's on pace to put up his most home runs and RBIs since his 2019 NL MVP campaign and will seek nine figures this winter."
