The Crown Point City Council took steps Tuesday toward what could result in the expansion of an existing business park south of Franciscan Health Crown Point hospital.
The council unanimously gave initial approval to three annexation petitions, along with fiscal plans, with property located south of the hospital and west of Iowa Street and 129th and 137th avenues.
“It’s the first step in the process,” said attorney Jim Wieser, who represents the petitioners of the three parcels seeking annexation.
The city’s financial consultant, Greg Guerrettaz, who worked with Wieser prior to the presentation at the City Council meeting, gave proposed plans his approval.
“The fiscal plan is excellent. It’s a benefit to the community,” Guerrettaz said.
