"Jaws" returned to theaters on Labor Day weekend and has done very well at the box office

Business Insider stated that "Jaws" made $260 million in the U.S. when it was first released in 1975

The film's total domestic gross is now $283.6 million, according to Rotten Tomatoes

For its 50th anniversary this year, Steven Spielberg's classic film, "Jaws" returned to movie theaters in Massachusetts, and across the nation on Aug. 29, and so far, it has eaten up its share of box-office earnings.

The film is scheduled to be shown in theaters through today, Thursday, Sept. 4, but it has already made a pile of money domestically.
