DELIGHT, Ark. – A Pike County man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for a 2024 deadly shooting.

On Monday, Aug. 22, 31-year-old Christian Buster pleaded no contest to second-degree murder related to the shooting death of 34-year-old Oscar Alba.

ASP officials said the shooting happened April 27, 2024, at Buster's home on Highway 26 East in Pike County. Special agents said Buster was a jailer and dispatcher with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office at the time of the shooting.

Buster was sentenced to 20 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, with 10 years of the sentence suspended. He also received an additional five years for using a gun. ASP officials said he will serve the terms consecutively.
