Alan Ritchson and Sylvester Stallone are two of the biggest action heroes of their generations. Stallone is synonymous with redefining the action hero, particularly through his portrayal of Rambo in First Blood (1982) and its various sequels. From the 1980s to the 1990s, Stallone starred in various action films , from Cobra (1986), Tango and Cash (1989), Cliffhanger (1993), Demolition Man (1993), and The Specialist (1994).

Later, in 2010, Stallone created The Expendables franchise, paying homage to his status as an iconic action star. On the other hand, Ritchson's physicality and commanding screen presence have made him a modern-day action star in his own right, best known for playing the titular character in Prime Video's series, Reacher , since 2022.
