A body has been recovered in the search for a missing Scot . ‌

The grim discovery was made just hours after Naomi McSorley was reported missing. ‌

Police say formal identification has yet to take place but Naomi's family have been informed. ‌

The 63-year-old vanished from the village of Foyers just before 10.30am this morning .

A missing persons probe was launched and, earlier today, Police Scotland appealed to the public.

The force published a picture of Naomi on social media and asked for anyone with information to come forward. ‌

The appeal was posted on the Police Scotland Highlands & Islands Facebook page.

It read : "Officers are asking for the help of the public to trace a 63-year-old woman reported missing from Foyers, south of Inverness.
