GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Greenville Police Department reports charging a man in connection to a hit and run involving a child in May.

Officers said they responded to Sacha’s Café on North Pleasantburg Drive, where a suspect who was driving recklessly hit a child, backed into a parked car and fled the scene.

Police discovered the suspect had made a credit card purchase nearby. Search warrants were executed with financial institutions over two months to uncover the cardholder’s identity.

The suspect was identified and taken into custody on Aug. 14, according to officers.

Police said 36-year-old Dayquan Clark was charged with the following:

Hit & run – Failure to render aid

Reckless driving

Driving under suspension

Operating an uninsured motor vehicle – 2nd offense
