NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KETK) -- A Lufkin mother was arrested last week after her infant suffered "abusive head trauma" in July, records reveal.
According to a Nacogdoches County arrest affidavit, on July 18, deputies responded to a local hospital where an infant was "unresponsive." While deputies were speaking to the mother, 20-year-old Jessy Moore of Lufkin, she explained that she was the only person holding the infant all day before they went to the hospital.
Medical staff told officers that the injury the victim had was new, but he had already been at the hospital just four days before for a head injury. On July 14, the infant was transported to the Texas Children's Hospital, where he was released because the injury wasn't severe enough to admit him.
