The Bruce County Housing Corporation has announced the purchase of a site in Walkerton for a 40-unit apartment-style residential development.

The purchase of 1.5 acres of land on Eastridge Road by the housing corporation from the Municipality of Brockton was finalized during the BCHC board meeting on Thursday.

BCHC Chief Executive Officer and Bruce County’s Director of Human Services Tina Metcalfe said in a news release that the development will blend affordable and market-rate housing in a way that is both financially sustainable and socially inclusive.
