Warming trend into next week

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Thursday evening brings a change in the pattern for southern Wisconsin. A small but strong system is sliding through the Upper Midwest and will spread rain into the region, especially north of Madison. Rainfall will be lighter and spottier farther south, but most areas will at least see some showers during the evening and overnight hours. The system is moving quickly, so rain won’t last long, but winds will be a bigger story. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are possible late tonight, particularly south of I-90, before easing a bit by Friday morning.

By Friday, the rain will have pushed off to the east, leaving behind lingering clouds and cooler air. A few light sprinkles are possible,
