I’m proud to support Councilor Daniel Carlino because of his leadership on getting more public benefit out of the Riverfront Triangle development. His amendment to dedicate 1% of hotel revenue to the Affordable Housing Trust Fund in perpetuity is exactly the kind of bold, thoughtful policy we need.

We can not rely on the market to supply affordable housing for Missoulians, and we should not be taxing homeowners in our community more to pay for affordable housing. His amendment was spot on to have the richest in our society pay a portion into creating homes Missoulians can truly afford.
