WILLIAMSBURG — Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Waltrip Williamsburg Executive Airport’s 55th Anniversary Airshow Celebration has been adjusted and will now become a free community celebration on Sept. 20.
The airshow team has announced that all aerial acts have been cancelled; however, the airport is still planning on hosting a community-wide celebration.
“No one was more excited to have our amazing aerobatic performers punctuate this 55th milestone than we were. We’re sorry to scale this year back. But we’re very excited to move ahead with a full-throttle, family-friendly celebration of aviation, community, and 55 years of history in the Historic Triangle. No tickets required — just bring your family, your friends, and your love of flight,” a Facebook post made by event organizers
