PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A fiery crash left one man seriously injured in east Phoenix overnight Thursday.

Shortly before 1 a.m., Phoenix police responded to the crash near 38th Street and McDowell Road . Investigators say the vehicle involved rolled over and went up in flames.

Emergency crews arrived and found a man ejected from the vehicle. He was initially rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, but police say his condition is now described as non-life-threatening.

Fire crews extinguished the flames, preventing them from spreading. The area was closed throughout the early morning but has since reopened.

This is the second serious crash to happen along the same stretch of McDowell Road in recent days. Last Friday, four people were hospitalized in a multi-vehicle crash at 40th S
