WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — With hail damage prompting a rush for roof repairs, the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office is reminding homeowners that contractors must be licensed, registered, and inspected.

Roofing companies working in the county must hold a license from the Metropolitan Area Building and Construction Department. Roofing work also requires permits and inspections through the department.

In addition, Kansas law requires all roofers statewide to register with the Attorney General’s Office. A searchable list of registered contractors is available on the Attorney General’s website.
