LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The City of Lincoln has its eyes set on its next area in need of improvement: the Belmont community.

The Belmont neighborhood is a family oriented community with parks, an elementary school and both a recreation and community center all at its heart.

Some, like Angela Pillow, a Belmont resident, have been living in the community for many years, even now raising her five grandchildren here.

“I love the Belmont community. My kid went here as a kindergartner and to the daycares here... I feel like it’s a great neighborhood. I also feel like we’re heading in the right direction,” Pillow said.

While people here feel connected, neighbors agree it’s long overdue for an upgrade, including Emily Koopmann, the executive director at the Belmont Community Center.
