CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Hamilton County Clerk of Court Pavan Parikh was sued in the Ohio Supreme Court Thursday for witholding all records of the city of Cincinnati’s criminal case against a victim charged in the Downtown melee.
The plaintiff is a Greater Cincinnati resident represented by two local attorneys known for public record and government watchdog lawsuits, former judge Curt Hartman and Chris Finney.
Citing a victim’s privacy law, the city of Cincinnati’s prosecutor wants a judge to seal records detailing the criminal case against a victim now charged in the Downtown melee, Alexander Tchervinski.
Marsy’s Law, also known as the Ohio Crime Victim’s Bill of Rights, protects crime victims’ rights and privacy.
A hearing already is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday.
