LINCOLN, Neb. —

A first-of-its-kind meeting just ended at the Nebraska State Capitol.

The Nebraska Legislature's Judiciary Committee met with Gov. Jim Pillen and other state leaders about the ICE detention facility planned in McCook, Nebraska .

The hearing was at the request of Judiciary Committee chair State Sen. Carolyn Bosn after questions from state senators opposed to the proposed facility .

'Nebraskans deserve answers':

The governor's office sent a news release, saying the briefing talked about the utilization of the Work Ethic Camp for housing people who are in the country illegally.

The meeting Thursday was closed to the public, KETV and other Nebraska media.

In a statement sent to KETV, the governor's office addressed a number of State Sen. Megan Hunt's questions.
