MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) – After months of detours and confusion, the end is in sight for many people who use a busy intersection in downtown Silver Spring.

The Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street intersection has been under construction since mid-June. Drivers and pedestrians have been finding ways to get around it, but soon, they won’t need to take a detour.

“Yeah, it’s crazy,” Robert Wynn, who lives in Silver Spring, said. “I don’t even know where to go sometimes.”

Wynn isn’t alone. Purple Line construction in downtown Silver Spring has made getting around Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street tricky and frustrating for many people over the past few months.

“I’ve jumped over things and gone through things, and I’ve had to maneuver the work site,” said Daniel Morales.
