A group of more than 20 U.S. senators — including some from the D.C. area — are calling for Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be removed from his position, saying his actions are undermining public health.

Maryland Sen. Angela Alsobrooks, who has been a fierce critic of Kennedy, filed the resolution of disapproval on Thursday along with 22 other senators, including Virginia senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine.

The filing came shortly after Kennedy testified during a lengthy and heated hearing over the upheaval at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and recent changes to COVID-19 vaccine guidance.
