OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Former death row inmate Richard Glossip's winding legal journey continues as a second judge has recused herself from the case.

The former death row inmate is still waiting on a new trial after the U.S. Supreme Court threw out his previous conviction.

Glossip walked into an Oklahoma County Courtroom Thursday morning, waving to his wife, before being seated inside with his legal team.

The previous judge, Heather Coyle, recused herself at the last hearing, and now Judge Kathryn Stallings has done the same thing, for reasons unknown.

Criminal Defense Attorney Joe Griffin adds his perspective on why the recusals are possibly happening.

"What we do know is that the two judges that have recused were prosecutors in their past," Griffin said.
