JEROME — The Jerome County commissioners and the Jerome Chamber of Commerce invite the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the newly remodeled former jail area at the courthouse.

The event takes place at noon on Monday at the Jerome County Courthouse, 300 N. Lincoln Ave. in Jerome.

Commissioners say the event will showcase the transformation of the historic space, and tours will be given after the ceremony.

The addition that used to house the jail is now the home of the Department of Motor Vehicles, the treasurer’s office and the county’s information technology office. Commissioners said the project maintained the structure’s historic integrity.
