One man is dead and another is missing after a boat capsized about 4 miles off the Oregon Coast northwest of Gold Beach on Aug. 31.

Three people were aboard the vessel when it overturned, according to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office .

One person was rescued and treated for hypothermia. A long and complex mission to recover the boat lasted until Sept. 2 when it was towed into the Port of Brookings.

The Curry County Sheriff’s Office said divers recovered the body of Sam Waller on Sept. 3, who was also on board and trapped below the capsized boat.

Officials said there was no sign of Jerrod Bruner, the third person on board, and said he is considered “still missing.”
