A 24-year-old woman shot and critically injured in Ewa Beach Tuesday night has been identified by family members as Francesca Kelso.

The 31-year-old man who allegedly shot her, described by Kelso’s family as an “ex-roommate,” died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in his car.

Honolulu Police Department officers responded at about 8:05 p.m. to a residence on the 5100 block of Iroquois Avenue in the Kapilina Beach Homes after reports of an argument between the suspect and Kelso escalated.

Police said the suspect fired multiple rounds at Kelso, who was leaving her job before she was able to get away

Kelso sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was treated by Emergency Medical Services workers before she was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.
