Brookfield Zoo will bid farewell to their furry resident koalas Brumby and Willum this fall and say hello to new animals and immersive exhibits that give patrons a chance to see the zoo's wildlife up close, according to a recent announcement.

After greeting nearly a million guests since their arrival at the zoo, Brumby and Willum are leaving their abode at the Hamil Family Play Zoo in Brookfield Zoo at the end of October, the zoo said.

Guests entering the Play Zoo will instead be greeted by a new addition to the zoo, smaller anteaters called tamanduas. They will participate in the zoo's Animal Ambassador program that offers guests the opportunity to learn about the solitary animals up close.
