The Woodstock Town Council added to the town’s property holdings Tuesday, securing one parcel through donation and another through auction, while also weighing whether to expand a special district that eases downtown parking requirements.

Council unanimously voted to accept a donation from Shenandoah Telephone Company (Shentel) of a 3,468-square-foot parcel on South Main Street that includes Jane’s Garden, the pocket park created in 2014 to honor former town enhancement coordinator Jane Beasley. The site, next to the Spring House Tavern, is home to the 7-foot PAC-Man sculpture installed as part of Woodstock’s public art program. The town has leased the property for years but will now own it outright.

The transfer includes a 10-foot easement for access and maintenance of an adjacent build
