ATLANTA — A fire broke out in one of the housing zones at the Fulton County Jail Thursday morning, the Fulton County Sheriff's Office said.

The sheriff's office staff was able to put out the flames. The 17 detainees who reside in the zone were evaluated and cleared to return to the area. Officials said one staff member was also evaluated and medically cleared.

The source of the fire is still under investigation.

No other details about the fire were released.
