FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — When the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders take the field on Sunday for their season opener at Gillette Stadium, there will be new, but very familiar, coaches on the opposing sidelines.
As fans well know by now, the Patriots will be led by head coach Mike Vrabel, who won three Super Bowls with the team in the early 2000s.
His offensive coordinator is Josh McDaniels, who returns to New England after an unsuccessful stint as head coach of their upcoming opponents. He went 9-16 in Las Vegas over a season and a half before being fired by the Raiders in October 2023.
