HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The weather gods smiled upon us on Thursday as rains fell to put a short-term dent in the drought (some areas like Charleston went abegging while Huntington-Ashland-Ironton amassed near an inch or even more).
As those rains depart, we are left in a quiet zone into early Friday afternoon. Then given a day with hot winds and hazy sun (some smoke from western fires mixed in), we will need to be on guard for potent thunderstorms in the evening hours followed by a general soaking rain late Friday night-Saturday.
