PROVIDENCE — Graduation losses weren’t going to drop the Moses Brown field hockey team off the face of the planet. The Quakers were always going to be good in 2025; it was just a matter of how good they could be with a new roster.

It turns out they’re better than good.

Wednesday's contest was the season opener, a rivalry game and a rematch of last year’s State Championship and Moses Brown was in midseason form. The defense and midfield dominated, a fresh face helped the offense role and the 6-0 win over traditional state power East Greenwich really had the mind wondering, if this is how the Quakers start things, what will it look like at the end?
