PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (TMX) - A Florida man is facing charges for allegedly attacking a couple with bug spray outside a Publix supermarket after a checkout line dispute, authorities said.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded at around 2 p.m. Sunday to the Publix grocery store on Cochran Boulevard in Port Charlotte for a report of a physical altercation. The victims, a married couple, told deputies the incident began in the checkout line inside the store.
The suspect, identified as 65-year-old Daniel John Kenel, allegedly tried to cut the wife in line, and when she informed him that she was in the line, became upset.
