New details have emerged after a student was killed, and others were injured in a school bus rollover near Geelong.

Crews raced to the intersection of the Hamilton Highway and Friend In Hand Road in Stonehaven on Wednesday morning after being called to the incident around 8.20am.

The bus, belonging to Christian College, was carrying 28 students when the horrific incident occurred.

A female student, who has not been identified, died in the incident.

Another student, a male, was airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, while another 10 students were taken to Geelong Hospital.

A 76-year-old man, the bus driver, was also taken to hospital. He has since been discharged and is currently assisting police at the Geelong Police Station.
