Wilmington City Council has taken a new step in the effort to improve student outcomes.
Council established the Office of Educational Advocacy earlier this year, and its first director was appointed, Dr. LaRetha Odumosu. The office was created to serve as a "permanent connector between families, students, schools, and legislative bodies," to "amplify community voices, bridge communication gaps, and develop long term strategies to tackle academic inequities."
Now, the OEA has a new website to serve as a central hub, where citizens can access resources, learn about ongoing initiatives and partnerships, and stay informed about the Office's advocacy efforts. Comments and questions can be submitted there, as well as through social media channels ( Instagram , Facebook , TikTok )
