The high school football regular season opened up Thursday as the John Bapst Crusaders took on the Madison Bulldogs at Alfond Stadium.
The Crusaders took an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter, and opened up the second on defense when cornerback Zac Babcock stepped in front of Bulldogs quarterback Devin Giroux's pass, picking it off and setting the Bapst offense up in prime field position.
Moments later, Crusaders quarterback Aiden Ouellette handed it off to running back Malcom Butler for an 11-yard rushing score, putting Bapst up 14-0.
On the Bulldogs next possession, the offense faced a long third down. Giroux set his sights deep down the field for wide receiver Tyshawn Hall, but the jumping up high up into the air was cornerback James Seymour who came down with the acrobatic intercep
