Business owners from Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast who have endured years of light rail construction are anxiously awaiting details of new bus services announced yesterday by the state government after stage 4 of the project was axed.

Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie announced yesterday that stage 4 of the GLink would not go ahead as planned due to community opposition and a potential cost blow-out .

Stage 3 of the project, which connects Burleigh Heads to Broadbeach, has been under construction since 2022 and is slated to be completed next year.
