FOREST LAKES, AZ (AZFamily) — A woman is dead after falling off the edge of a cliff of the Mogollon Rim last weekend, according to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.

Just after 1 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, deputies were called out to the Willow Springs Lake entrance of the park near Forest Lakes , which is east of Payson.

When deputies arrived, they learned that a 29-year-old woman, who was on a camping trip with friends, had walked away from the campsite to use the bathroom when it was completely dark.

It is believed that the woman fell about 120 feet.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team helped recover the woman’s body.

The identity of the woman has not been released yet.
