In an emotional 16-minute YouTube video released Wednesday, Jack Osbourne shared the devastating moment he learned of the death of his father, Ozzy Osbourne, and reflected on the rock legend’s final weeks.

The 39-year-old revealed that he had spent a week in the United Kingdom following Ozzy’s last performance in Birmingham on July 5, before returning to Los Angeles on July 13. His father had appeared to be in good spirits.

The unexpected news came in the early morning hours of July 22, when a long-time family employee knocked on Jack’s door at 3:45 a.m. “When I looked through my window and I saw it was him, I knew something bad had happened,” Jack explained. “I was informed that my father had passed.”

Ozzy Osbourne, the Black Sabbath frontman and “Crazy Train” singer, died at age 76.
